The camper Basic & Advance camp

After the closing ceromony, some of the BB boys participated in the Campers Camp. They quickly change to their outfits and ready for the new activities. Captain Raymond had buy the dinner for us for the first night. After that, we attended our classes. Lt. Charles Chung and Lt. Andrew had came and teach us about the knot. We gave our greatfull thanks and care for them. Tomorrow morning, the Basics Campers start their first cooking at the back of the Wisma Basel. They had cooked their own breakfast there. After the Basics, sure return to the Advances. The advance campers had also cooked their own breakfast. The next event for the Basics is tent building and for the Advances is handi-craft. Lastly, for the Basics, they went home by 4.30p.m. and for the Advances, they had to stay one more night for the last teory for the campers Advance. After the Advance campers had take their test and pack their things, it is the end of this Campers Basic & Advance Camp. Home Sweet Home~~~

The Boys' Brigade closing ceremony 2009

On the 22 of Noverber 2009, our closing ceromony was held in Wisma Basel. We, the 2nd Sandakan BB boys had reached there an hour ago to prepare for the closing ceromony. Captain Raymond had held a last rehearsal for the GOH(Guard of Honour) and also the MC speech. After a few practice, the time had come. All the members had ready themself for the GOH. Daniel Fan, the perade commander for this year closing ceromony was also ready. After the inspection of the GOH, Lt. Alexander Liew brought all of the brothers and sisters in Chris to a high praise and wroship. After all the speech from the guest of honour and Rev. James Wong, the time for the promotion had come. Some of the BB and GB members had got their promotion and some of them didn't. We had a very great time in the closing ceromony in the year 2009. Hope the next year will better than this year.

Jogathon at Sung Siew

A jogathon was held in our school, SM Sung Siew at 7.30a.m. on 28 October 2009. Our organization, Boys' Brigade was asking to help on that day. There was boys from our organization who volunteered. They are Eric Chin, Esmond Wong, Philip Voo, Chow Tshun Nam, Jonathan Chiu, Valentine Chin, Lai Hsiang Yuan, Justin Foo and Chia Chuong Yan.

They were divide into 5 group, means there were person in one group. Our job was to show the correct direction for the participants. At the beginning of jogathon, the female participants were asked to start the jogathon, then followed by veteran and male participants. Along the activity, some of the participants were lost and some of them fainted. Luckily there was a ambulance car patrol on the road. Before we left the place that we were in charged. We make sure all the participant passed through our station. The activity ended at 8.30a.m.

Annual Dinner 2009

Pada 30 Oktober 2009, Jamuan Tahunan SM Sung Siew telah diadakan di Sabah Hotel Grand Ballroom. Badan beruniform yang menjadi penganjur pertama pada tahun ini ialah Persatuan Briged Putera (BB).

Pada jam 5.30, semua AJK telah berada di Sabah Hotel dan memulakan tugas-tugas persiapan. Pengacara majlis pada hari tersebut ialah Arjunan Selvamani dan Tan Pui Lei. Selepas itu, tetamu kehormat, Encik Ganesan tiba pada jam 7.30. Ahli-ahli Boys’ Brigade telah memainkan bugle call – Welcome Song untuk mengalu-alukan kedatangannya. Sesampainya Encik Ganesan, maka majlis telahpun bermula dengan ucapan beliau diikuti dengan majlis perasmian.

Selepas itu, ahli Boys’ Brigade telah melakukan persembahan brass band. Mereka memulakan persembahan mereka dengan persembahan solo dan kemudiannya dalam kumpulan. Kemudian, ahli – ahli Girls’ Brigade dan Pandu Puteri mempersembahkan ‘Scapella’ dengan lagunya ‘Stand By Me’. Majlis diteruskan dengan persembahan muzik daripada beberapa orang murid yang berbakat dari persatuan yang berbeza.

Pada jam 8.00, aturcara ‘Star’ telahpun bermula. Pengacara majlis telah mengumumkan nama-nama peserta yang bertuah dan menjemput mereka naik ke pentas supaya para guru boleh mengundi calon yang disukai. ‘Star’ pada malam tersebut ialah Lee Ka Kee, Adeline dan Hareesh Menon. Selepas itu merupakan persembahan nyanyian daripada wakil St. John Ambulance, Lydrielyn Koh dari tingkatan 5F.

Pada kemuncak majlis, tarian panas telah dipersembahkan oleh sebuah kumpulan yang amat popular di sekolah kami iaitu D-Max. Kemudian, majlis dibawa kepada persembahan set band daripada Seck Min Guang dan rakan – rakannnya. Sesi ‘lucky draw’ telah diadakan selepas persembahan yang menarik itu dan mendapat sambutan yang agak meriah. Selepas itu merupakan satu lagi persembahan set band daripada Sinn Wei Hung dan diikuti dengan tarian ‘Jumpstyle’ oleh persatuan Pengakap. Persembahan set band daripada kumpulan PKBM juga dapat menarik perhatian ramai tetamu. Bagi persembahan yang terakhir pada malam itu ialah persembahan isyarat tangan oleh Bulan Sabit Merah Malaysia. Persembahan itu amat menarik dan dapat menyentuh hati para tetamu.

Setelah itu, para AJK berkumpul dan mengambil gambar secara berkumpulan dan majlis telah pun bersurai pada pukul 10.00 malam. Secara keseluruhannya, jamuan tahunan pada tahun ini agak berjaya.

Attention to all 2nd Sandakan BB Company members, the company will having a break for two weeks due to the PMR and final year examination and will resume on the 25th of October. Patriotic Program 2009 Report

On the 16 of September 2009, the Boys Brigade had take part in the patriotic program 2009 oraganized by the Belia Council at the Belia Center with the title of “Ke Arah Pembentukan Satu Malaysia” - Memasak Beramai-ramai Bubur Lambuk Belia Merdeka & Majlis Berbuka Puasa Persatuan Belia Akar Umbi Sandakan. The other uniform group present were Girls Brigade, Girl Guide and also Red Crescent. About 10 boys led by Officer Jackie attended the activity.

The boys gathered at Sung Siew Secondary School at 1.30p.m. Together with Girl Guide and Girls Brigade, they took off to their destination at 2.00p.m by bus. The open ceremony began with the arrival of our guest of honour, Datuk Peter Pang, followed by the National and State anthem. After that, a poem performance by one of the Belia Council member then the passing of the National flag from Datuk Peter Pang to Officer Jackie. The ceremony continue with the speech by Datuk Peter Pang, and then the opening ceremony officially opened with the unrolling the scroll and stirring the porridge with the Belia Council members.

While waiting the Muslims believers to break the fast, the boys together with the other uniform group were taken to the Belia Center for a visit. They also play some mini-games that given out the Girls Guide.

The fast break at 6.15p.m. and the dinner started at the same time. Although most of the food were the Malay tradition food and the boys willingly to try out the tradition foods. The dinner ends at 7.00p.m. and the boys help out the council member by clearing the tables and arrange back the chairs before they went back.
